Virgin Media to use cheap flyers following new marketing appointment?

After announcing a new chief marketing officer, Virgin Media could be altering its strategies.

Cheap flyers could be one new avenue Virgin Media wishes to consider pursuing after announcing a shake up of its marketing department.

The brand has created a new role of chief marketing officer, to which Nigel Gilbert has been appointed.

He joins the company in January from Lloyds Banking Group, while he has also worked in advertising and marketing for Asia Pacific and Lowe Worldwide.

Andrew Barron, chief operating officer at Virgin Media, said he is "delighted" to welcome an executive of such calibre to the senior management team.

"As we look to accelerate Virgin Media's transformation into the most customer-focused organisation in the industry, Nigel will play a pivotal role in our growth agenda," he added.

Mr Gilbert stated now is an exciting time to be joining the brand and he is looking forward to helping drive a "compelling consumer proposition".

Another company that could be enlisting the services of flyer printers in the near future is Tesco, which recently launched a new fashion boutique on its website.
