Firms to save money by changing UK printing services?

Choosing a UK printing firm that is better value could save companies a great deal of money, a government spending review has suggested.

Businesses looking to reduce their expenditure might like to examine the cost of the UK printing service they use.

Swapping to a different printer could save organisations a great deal of money, the results of Sir Philip Green's government spending review have suggested.

The Efficiency Review revealed the state is paying as much as 80 per cent above the market price for printing jobs.

Sir Green found different departments are paying variable amounts for the same services, with one sector paying £1.31 to have a leaflet printed, compared to the market price of 26p.

"There is no reason why [the] government should not be as efficient as any good business," he said.

Firms looking to heed the tycoon's advice might like to standardise the cost of printing across different departments or switch to an alternative company.

In addition, the author of an article on nebusiness.co.uk stated organisations can reduce their expenditure by placing bulk orders for printed stationary and envelopes.
