Firms that use leaflet printing to become more sustainable?

Those that use the services of leaflet printers may wish to implement more eco-friendly practices, following recent comments.

Companies that use the services of leaflet printers may wish to consider bringing in more environmentally-friendly practices, following remarks from one expert.

Sam Jarvis, head of communications at Waste Watch, suggested consumers are becoming increasingly aware of ethical considerations, which could prompt firms to use sustainable printing methods.

Another consideration for organisations may be packaging, as Mr Jarvis stated evidence shows customers don't like excessive wrapping.

Although packaging is useful, people do not approve of paying for unnecessary materials and the waste this creates, he continued.

Many enterprises are being more innovative with their packaging designs, Mr Jarvis explained, particularly in terms of making materials more lightweight.

He said recycling levels are good in some parts of the country at about 40 per cent of rubbish, but there is still more work to be done and it is not just about recycling, but about reducing the amount of waste produced in the first place.

Therefore cutting paper waste may be another concern for those that use leaflet printing, as German firm Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG recently claimed paper waste offers the biggest potential for improving a company's environmental standards.
