Adidas to use cheap flyers in London 2012 marketing campaign?

Cheap flyers could be used as part of Adidas's marketing strategy for the Olympics.

Cheap flyers may be one strategy that Adidas's newly-reshuffled marketing team wishes to consider for its London 2012 strategy.

Marketing Week reports the role of Barry Moore - head of communications at the company - has been expanded to encompass responsibility for Olympics marketing activity after Mark Phillips resigned.

Currently Adidas's London 2012 brand marketing head, Mr Phillips is set to leave the organisation in mid-December to set up his own consultancy business.

Mr Moore will now work alongside UK marketing director Nick Vraggs and Erica Kerner, global Olympic Games director.

As a tier-one sponsor of London 2012, Adidas "will be looking to exploit interest around the Games by selling 2012-themed sports apparel", according to the publication.

And cheap flyers could be one way in which to do this, with Direct Marketing Association chairman Scott Logie recently saying direct mail has never had such a wide-reaching function to perform in business.
