Leaflet printing companies could be inspired to become more environmentally friendly after TNT Post was awarded the level three PAS 2020 certificate.
The firm is the first direct mail supplier to achieve the environmental standard, which was developed alongside the Direct Marketing Association (DMA).
Chris Combemale, executive director of the DMA, congratulated TNT Post, remarking: "Adopting environmental best practice is commercial best practice."
He explained businesses that change their operations now will fare better in the future as new green legislation comes into effect, while they will also benefit from increased production and delivery efficiency.
Nick Wells, chief executive of TNT Post, commented: "We recognise the need for a responsible mail market - socially, environmentally and economically."
Leaflet printers may also be interested in recent comments from Matt Counsell of McCallum Layton in an article for Marketing Week, who stated environmental issues are without a doubt becoming an increasingly important element of advertising.
